Naomi Sím (沈宛瑩)
Introduction
Naomi Sím (沈宛瑩) is a Taiwanese writer with a background in Communication Design. She is a two-time recipient of the Tâi-gí Literature Award for short stories.
Her work explores themes of identity and culture, and uses humour and satire to examine deeper societal issues.
翠蘭ê情批 Chhùi-Lân ê chêng-phoe (Extract)
初提著頭一个台文文學獎ê歇熱，我轉來庄跤有兩項代誌，第一，欲唸予阿媽聽，伊煞笑我這馬講話阿啄仔腔聽袂落。第二，拄仔好趕會赴阿兄對台北轉來共in囝收瀾，我順紲會當做新小說ê題材。
「收涎收乾乾，永遠爸媽小心肝。」
我聽in收瀾歌無一句是台語，淡薄仔礙虐。阿兄佮阿嫂抱嬰仔分拜過ê收瀾餅予逐家食平安，食了彼暝我就做著一个怪夢，夢見我佇溪邊看著一塊石頭寫「飲水思源」隨感覺喙焦想欲啉水，頭向落去將手板曲曲，khat水來到面頭前，喙擘開，鼻甕予鹹酸苦汫ê溪水鑿甲袂喘氣，choân清醒起來。
Chho͘ thê-tio̍h thâu chi̍t-ê Tâi-bûn bûn-ha̍k chióng ê hioh-joa̍h, góa tńg—lâi chng-kha ū nn̄g-hāng tāi-chì, tē-it, beh liām-hō͘ a-má thiaⁿ, I soah chhiò góa chit-má kóng-ōe a-tok-á-khiuⁿ thiaⁿ-bē loe̍h. Tē-lī, tú-á-hó koáⁿ-ē-hù a-hiaⁿ tùi Tâi-pak tńg—lâi kā in-kiáⁿ siu-nōa, góa sūn-sòa ē-tàng chò sin siáu-soat ê tê-châi.
“Shōu xián shōu gān gān, yǒngyuǎn bà mā xiǎo xīngān.”
Góa thiaⁿ in siu-nōa-koa bô chi̍t-kù sī Tâi-gí, tām-po̍h-á gāi-gio̍h. A-hiaⁿ kah a-só phō eⁿ-á pun pài kòe ê siu-nōa-piáⁿ hō͘ ta̍k-ke chia̍h pêng-an, chia̍h-liáu hit mê góa tō chò-tio̍h chi̍t-ê koài bāng, bāng-kìⁿ góa tī khe-piⁿ khòaⁿ-tio̍h chi̍t-tè chio̍h-thâu siá, “Ím-chúi su-goân,” sûi kám-kak chhùi-ta siūⁿ-beh lim-chúi, thâu àⁿ-lo̍h-khì chiòng chhiú-pán khiau-khiau, khat-chúi lâi-kàu bīn-thâu-chêng, chhùi peh-khui, phīⁿ-àng hō͘ kiâm-sng-khó͘-chiáⁿ ê khe-chúi chha̍k-kah bē-chhoán-khùi, choân chheng-chhéⁿ khí-lâi.
